What are DTF (Direct to Film) Transfers? Direct to Film (DTF) is a modern printing process where designs are printed onto a special clear film, coated with a heat-melt adhesive powder, and then cured. Once ready, the film can be heat-pressed onto a wide variety of fabrics, including cotton, polyester, blends, and even leather.

What kind of garments can I apply DTF transfers to? One of the biggest advantages of DTF is its versatility. You can apply our transfers to almost any fabric, including 100% cotton, 100% polyester, poly-cotton blends, nylon, canvas, and denim. Unlike sublimation, DTF works perfectly on both light and dark-colored garments.

Ordering & Artwork

What file format should I send for my designs? For the best print quality, we require high-resolution files (300 DPI). Preferred formats include:

  • PNG (with transparent background)
  • PDF (vectorized)
  • AI or EPS (Adobe Illustrator)
  • PSD (Photoshop)

Do I need to mirror my artwork before uploading? No. Please upload your artwork exactly as you want it to look on the shirt. Our software automatically mirrors the design during the printing process.

What is a "Gang Sheet"? A gang sheet is a single sheet of film where you place multiple designs to maximize space. This is the most cost-effective way to order, as you pay for the length of the film rather than per individual design. Application & Technical

What heat press settings should I use for Monster Transfers? Our recommended "Monster Standard" settings are:

  • Temperature (cotton & blends): 240°F
  • Temperature (polyester): 220°F - 240°F
  • Pressure: Heavy
  • Time: 8 seconds
  • Peel: Instant peel — peel right away, don't let it get cold. If it does, just heat again for 3 to 5 seconds.

Do I need to do a "Second Press"? Yes! After peeling the film, cover the design with parchment paper or a Teflon sheet and press again at the same time and temp (8 seconds, heavy pressure). This finishing press locks the ink into the fibers and gives the design a softer feel.

How do I wash garments with DTF transfers? To maximize the life of your print, we recommend:

  • Turn the garment inside out.
  • Machine wash cold or warm.
  • Tumble dry on low heat or hang dry.
  • Avoid using bleach or harsh fabric softeners.

How fast is the turnaround time? Orders placed before 10 AM Arizona time on a business day go into production that day, and production takes 1–2 business days. What if my transfer arrives damaged? If your transfers are damaged during transit or if there is a printing defect, contact us within 3 days of delivery with your order number and photos of the issue. We will make it right!
